I have a brother named Fred, a father named Fred and at least one cousin named Fred and you would think it entirely possible that since I am related to so many people named Fred I would have a picture of at least one of them but I don’t. But that’s okay. I found this photograph of a guy and his real name was Fred and not having seen the other three Freds for quite some time, one or the other or perhaps all three just may look like this.

WHY THERE IS A FRED PAGE

As it goes, you could probably wade through thousands of web pages and never see another FRED PAGE. Does this make it rare?  Absolutely. Does this make it valuable? That is a debate for historians and other people who are usually marginally employed and therefore have a lot of time to give thought to this subject.  So, you ask, why a FRED PAGE ?  It seems I left my brother Fred’s name off the list of people I posted on other pages and simply referred to him as a ‘other sibling’.  He can read.  He noticed this.  I should have left off the name of a sibling that can’t read. A bunch of us siblings was educated in Florida and one of us must fit that bill. But no, he not only noticed, he pointed it out to me.  As a person not usually given to shame, I did the only thing any man would.  I gave him his own page and the only complaint he could possibly entertain is that I did not spell out his full name, which is Frederick. Frederick is an old German name that loosely translated means “the one who can read.” I know, I looked this up.

AMAZING FRED FACTS

He flies airplanes and once built one. He has eaten soy beans.  He had an online magic shop called VILLAGE MAGIC but he made it disappear.  He lives near ANTIOCH COLLEGE.  My father used to drive me by the campus in the 1950s and point out the beatniks sitting on the steps. He said if I wasn’t careful I would grow up like them.  I wasn’t careful. Not too far from Fred’s house is a deep gorge that Daniel Boone once jumped to get away from Indiana.  Rod Serling lived in my brother’s town because he didn’t have to go far to get material to write all those TWILIGHT ZONE stories.  ZEBULON PIKE, the guy they named a peak and a fish after more than likely came through town once or twice. Fred now works for the Defense Department at Wright Patterson Air Force Base.  For those of you who don’t know, the airbase was named for the founding fathers of aviation, Steven Wright and Floyd Patterson.  I don’t know what Fred does for the DoD  but people have seen a lot of strange lights at night down by the Huffman Dam. And last, but not least, he has his own personal FRED PAGE. May it serve him well.
