Lets hear it for GLOBAL WARMING because when the seas rise you can fish from your porch. YBOR CITY often floods as the locals well know and this is a picture of one of those floods taken before the drought started last century. In the right of the pic is the old RITZ THEATRE, a former porno palace.

The next photo is the old YBOR SQUARE building where we used to hang out in a place called ROUGH RIDERS. For two decades it was essentially the only place in YBOR. It is closed now and the square is being turned into offices.  It appears that the LATIN QUARTER in a TEN CENT TOWN is being devaluated as we speak.

YBORHEMIA was the birthplace of the OYSTER MAFIA who came here on the bottom of Noah’s Ark.  Noah left because there was no mountain to beach the ark on and his wife Joan was getting fairly sick of seafood and the smell of animals.  Like all places of mythological significance, it ceased to exist except as a passel of memories.
